Paddle and Paint Adventure Camp
This full-day camp brings together the best of both worlds—beginner kayaking with 4Corners Riversports’ Tadpole program and river-inspired arts and crafts with the Duranatangs. Perfect for young adventurers ages 6–8, this camp introduces kids to the basics of kayaking and lets their creativity flow with hands-on art projects inspired by the river.
Mornings are spent learning elementary river safety, boat control, and paddling techniques. We’ll practice skills at the lake or flatwater on the Animas, play confidence-building games, and help each camper grow comfortable in their kayak. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and our instructors take special care to keep young paddlers supported and smiling.
In the afternoons, the adventure continues at Duranatangs, where kids will dive into creative projects that are all about the river—fish, waves, wildlife, boats, currents, and more. Using a variety of mediums, campers will craft keepsakes that reflect the magic of their time on the water.
By the end of the week, campers will walk away with new paddling skills, river awareness, artwork they’re proud of, and a deeper connection to the water. It’s the perfect blend of paddling, exploring, imagining, and creating!
This class includes all gear, transportation, and instructors.

The Southwest can have very sudden and unpredictable changes in weather. All classes run rain or shine, unless there are weather related safety concerns. All programs may be changed at our discretion. To keep our classes affordable, we must fill a program with a minimum amount of participants. We reserve the right to cancel the program if the minimum amount of participants is not met. A full refund will be provided if a class is cancelled, and you will be notified no later than 48 hours before the beginning of the class.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your reservation, please do so 48 hours or more before the beginning of the class. Cancellations within 48 hours of the beginning of the program are non- refundable. If you wish to reschedule within 48 hours before the beginning of the program, we can provide a 50% credit towards the rescheduled class.
